"It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine" ...REM
Sue started singing that song at the Grocery warehouse the other day when we were on one of our classic shopping sprees. I said ‘I haven’t heard that one for awhile.’ We shopped 6 feet apart and she brought rubber gloves, we are doing what they suggest: staying away from people. Yuck, what fun is that?
I thought social distancing was when you avoided an event/party where you might run into an ex! Not going to THAT party!!
Baywood Park and surrounding communities, can hardly operate this way, but the Governor of New York had some really nice things to say about getting household projects done that we’ve been putting off and having longer conversations with our kids, friends, relatives about things we usually don’t have time to say or talk about.
He said he even talked to his mom more than usual and expressed it’s a beautiful thing - especially among the horrible things happening in New York.
So now the trend is online dance parties and concerts being broadcast from living rooms, bathrooms, garages.
My friend said they tuned in to a dance party with only one person dancing. I thought you needed at least 2 people to call it a party?!!
But it’s a good time to change those old guitar strings, practice your para-diddles and write some new lyrics so when this is over - and let’s pray it’s soon - we can breath some fresh air and add some new ‘stoke’ to the music community.
And let’s say a prayer for the families that are suffering losses we can’t imagine. Hi Mom, hi Dad. Love you guys, Curt.
