Mother Corn Shuckers at the Merrimaker Friday the 13th
Wow what a crazy time we live in! Before the virus hit, the Mother Corn Shuckers were booked at the Merrimaker in beautiful downtown Baywood Park. They purposely adjusted the date so we wouldn’t conflict with Shooter Jennings at the Siren and Robert Earl Keen at the Fremont.
Turns out both shows were cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus, but the mighty Corn Shuckers persevered which could mean we are dumb, brave, or just flat out uneducated about the seriousness of the pandemic.
When we first started to play, the bar had maybe 30 people in attendance which is a very small crowd for a Corn Shucker show. With rain and newscasters urging people to stay home it was a miracle that the music community showed their bravery and turned out in droves to the tune of 175 beautiful Shucker dancers and revelers!
Thank you thank you thank you Shucker fans! It was wonderful to see you there. May your health be excellent and all your friends and families be safe during these scary times. Can’t wait for this to be over so we can all continue to support the vibrant and beautiful music scene here on the Central Coast. Aloha.
