Top of the World

Yes, we are still groovin’ here on the Central Coast of Cali. Not that it’s safe out there yet, but we still are so blessed to have the opportunity to get outside for exercise, and somehow we always find cool trails, paddles to different parts of Morro Bay, and even eating out more, and loving the food choices that are still available in Los Osos or Morro Bay.

You can’t beat the fish tacos at Dockside on the Embarcadero, or the Little Hut, where you get 2 huge fish tacos for only $7.50. You can find plenty of seating outside, where it’s safe and away from the Covid carriers.

Recently I discovered the Broderson trails in Los Osos. I can’t believe I’ve lived here 25 years and am now just starting to find all these new great areas to hike.

Of course before Covid I was a surfer and drummer, and always had the same routine, surf, surf, surf, but now, thanks to Bobby Sue, explorer enthusiast, and all around cool chick, who is totally up for finding new places to explore, I am just loving the exercise and the views from the Top of the World, and hiking around all the local trails.

The Broderson trails go every which way, up, down, sideways winding through groves of pigmy oaks and a series of groovy trails. We found a sweet ravine we called Red Rocks (like in Colorado, only a mini version of it). We came across ‘Mike’s Bench’ and sat for a spell, gazed out at the panorama before us. Wow.

We both agreed we live in the most bitchen area of California, such variety, and the hills, Hollister Peak, Cabrillo, the Rock, Black Hill, and the Bay, with all it’s inlets and the dunes.

We worked up an appetite and headed down to Nois 2nd st. Cafe for of all things, a tuna melt with french fries. Who would think a Thai food restaurant would make the most delicious tuna sandwich? The french fries were battered, tempura style, and p.s., the most delicious french fries either of us ever had!

We grabbed a couple of pocket shots of Dulce Vida (aka: Aqua Velva!) and headed for the clubhouse to watch the sunset.

We both exclaimed how great of a day it was, and how lucky and blessed we are to live here, in Baywood and Morro Bay.

I hope everyone stays in the Groove, and get vaccinated soon!

I get this feeling - everything little ting, is going to be alright … Aloha my friends!
