Here comes Happiness!
Staying in the Groove has been a real challenge lately. The spike in the virus is so scary. I haven’t even been to downtown SLO for three months when I used to go see Tripped Up or True Zion at the Frog and Peach, but no more.
Concerts in the Plaza, Ramona Park, Avila Beach for Stick Figure and Pepper, Slightly Stoopid. Man, what happened?
Even the Mother Corn Shuckers had to cancel gigs at Port San Luis Lighthouse and a number of events. So now I play guitar at Central Coast Music (when I’m working at In the Groove) and at the ‘Clubhouse’ in Baywood Park. (Shhh…. it’s not really a clubhouse!).
But my favorite things to do are still exploring and having crazy adventures with my friend, Sue. We have been lucky to just randomly say “hey, have you ever been to Hazards or Los Osos Oaks or up Broderson trails?”
It’s so fun to explore new trails and hikes. Also, paddling the back bay in the kayaks.
For example, 4th of July was epic! With the full moon and glassy super high tide and fireworks being shot off all around the bay, it was fantastic! One of the best 4th of July’s ever.
So the present situation with how much we can’t do has become a true blessing of discovering what we CAN do.
For example, with everyone doing home improvement projects and landscaping, Los Osos has never looked so good!
What a beautiful place we live in. Good job Osos!
Now I’m heading down to the bay to play guitar. At least I’ve learned some new material!
By the way “Here Comes Happiness” is a cool song my brother Robin Miller wrote you can hear it on CD Baby or you tube the Miller Broz. (with a ‘Z’).
Aloha amigos!
