Yes, we are still groovin’ here on the Central Coast of Cali. Not that it’s safe out there yet, but we still are so blessed to have the opportunity to get outside for exercise and somehow we always find cool trails, paddles to different parts of Morro Bay, and even eating out more and loving the food choices that are still available in Los Osos or Morro Bay.

The tide was just coming in around sunset and since Sue and I had both put in a long day “at the office”, we were both ready for some water time. So we launched around dusk for a paddle out to the sandspit. Sue said we should bring lights for our kayaks since we may be paddling after dark.

We were lucky enough to see that rocket launch from Vandenberg last year that blew up the sky with radical colors and shapes it was totally awesome! So we expected a great show in the sky this time too. Unfortunately, the Baywood fog was hovering around a few nights and we couldn’t see a thing.

Although the Music Cares videos with Keith Richards and the Doobie Brothers are fantastic to watch, it’s amazing how they got everyone from all parts of the world together to jam on one tune. It’s really awesome.

Concerts in the Plaza, Ramona Park, Avila Beach for Stick Figure and Pepper, Slightly Stoopid. Man, what happened?
Even the Mother Corn Shuckers had to cancel gigs at Port San Luis Lighthouse and a number of events. So now I play guitar at Central Coast Music (when I’m working at In the Groove) and at the ‘Clubhouse’ in Baywood Park (shhh it’s not really a clubhouse!).

We launched from Baywood pier and rode bikes out to Sea Pines golf course into the Monarch housing track. There is a sweet trail through the Eucalyptus trees out behind hole number 4 green or number 5 tee box.
We decided to take a break at a bench which was located in a big circle of trees. Lo and behold we looked at the bench and a sign said something like “Thank you Sue for providing this beautiful bench!”

But if you’re like me, I sometimes really get a kick out of having the place to myself, so to speak. Meaning uncrowded waves, an empty restaurant with a window seat, a road with no other cars on it, an empty movie theater, etc.
It’s so scary when it’s a city or county or national order to stay at home. But we on the Central Coast are so blessed to have ‘space’ between us… naturally.
